Joey is from Warsaw, VA., part of the historic "Northern Neck".  He began his broadcasting career in 1984.  He moved to Blacksburg in October of 1994 and now lives just outside the beautiful "Star City" and absolutely loves the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia.  Joey is also on-air from 10 A.M. - 12 Noon on sister station Q99.   Joey and wife Sue have two beautiful girls, Montgomery Leigh, 3 and a half, and Maggie, 12 and a half.  He's an avid news and sports fan.  GO HOKIES!  Joey is also a huge NASCAR fan and is involved in motorsports.  Joey does track announcing at Martinsville Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.  He also did track announcing at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, VA. for almost 7 years.  As far as music, Joey's a big fan of Tina Turner and Huey Lewis and the News.  Favorite food?  Chinese!  His favorite thing is spending time with family.  The Self's also enjoy game night's with friends.
